My hunting story began about 25 years ago with my Dad, a trip to the Eastern
Shore and a shotgun.  I’ve always been a redneck, raised on country music and
love of wide, open spaces.   Hunting was bound to find me; it was just a matter of
time.

When I harvested my first mature buck, I knew there was no going back.  I
jumped, shouted, called my friends.  That first buck held a place of honor in my
house, still does for that matter.  I knew I had to do this - hunting was a part of
me that wasn’t to be denied anymore.  I wanted to try everything; muzzleloader,
bow, crossbow, shotgun, rifle.

I soon discovered my real love was archery – don’t tell my wife.  Also, 3-D archery
tournaments were a great way to practice and hone those skills during the off
season.  I started with local competitions and pestered a local archery shop for
advice.  From there, I branched out to the national shoots held by International
Bowhunters Association (IBO).  After a while, I won several National titles, a World
Championship title and the Best of the Best.

I have hunted white tail deer, which I think are some of the smartest animals
around.  Black bear, boar, turkey, fallow deer are all in my game room, not to
mention in my freezer; although they don’t last long!

Throughout all of this I got married and now have a family of my own. I work a full
time job as a Water Treatment technician.  My wife and daughter both have a love
of outdoors.  You can find them in a tree stand right along with me; sometimes I’m
the hunter or I’m the one behind the camera.  I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Whether it’s bow hunting from a tree stand, competing in a 3-D archery
tournament or helping a buddy video their own hunt, I just love to be around
people who enjoy the sport of hunting as much as I do.  It never gets old - never.
Every hunt is different and special in its own way.
