August:
Practicing in “Real Life Hunting Situations”
It is especially important to start practicing in “Real
Life Hunting Situations”. This should include shooting
from your deer stand, ground blind as well as different
Deer Target so that you are completely comfortable with
your kill zones.
If you are going to be hunting from a deer stand, this is
especially important for you. Try to recreate your “Real
Life Hunting Situation” at home as close as possible to
your spot in the woods. For example, position your deer
stand at the same height as it will be in the woods.
Also, don’t forget to practice from a sitting AND
standing position – you never know what will be presented
to you at the time of your hunt.
NOTE! Although it my sound like a great idea, DO NOT
practice in the woods that you will be hunting in. This
will only add more human scent and disturbance to your
property.
Now GO PRACTICE… and WEAR YOUR SAFETY HARNESS!
Good Luck,
David Bush
